R-A-C graduate fashion show '08

My all time favourite fashion show is Galliano's spring/summer '08 ready to wear collection. BUT, any fashion show is a perfect excuse to indulge in my favourite pastime - beautiful clothes and slip into a fantasy realm, so as the time for graduate fashion shows emerged I could not resist heading to check out the Royal College of Art graduate show in Kensington. Highlights were definately Katie Eary's striking outfits with a stroke of 'punked' royal wear. Jenny Hortlund's padded silhouettes were suprisingly sexual and Murat Kuscu's paper weight creations were structurally impressive, and tie in well with much of the art scene in london at the moment - think 'psycho buildings' on the southbank. Lilia Yip's (http://www.liliayip.co.uk/) use of the body as a frame was exciting and debbie fletcher's collection was possibly the most wearable and beautifully classic array of pieces. The show has inspired me to watch the great gatsby and create some disproportionate curves.
